Eco conscious Travellers can enjoy guilt free living at Salt Lake Lodge.
Environmental responsibility encourages us to offer quality and service with a minimal impact on our unique environment.
Venture off the beaten path and experience one of Fiji's most impressive regions from this low impact, laid back stylish eco accommodation.
The Beach house is perched on the edge of the Qaloqalo River literally meaning swimming river.
This wonderful salt waterway feeds Fiji's Salt Lake from the waters of
the Koro Sea.
The magical location inspires us to
monitor the environmental performance
of the house. Solar powered water heating
LED lighting and energy efficient
refrigeration reduces energy consumption. Water supply is pure rainwater catchment . Organic gardening methods are adopted - coconuts, root crops, herbs and fresh fruit from the 5 acre property can be sampled. Free range chickens eat the food waste;
other rubbish is recycled and buried.
Spectacular ways to experience the river, reef, rainforest, lake, lagoon and sea include hiking, kayaking, tubing, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, birdwatching, spinner dolphin trips, remote snorkeling and village and church visits.
We encourage our guests to participate
in this eco consciousness by being aware of power consumption
and turning off unneeded lightings. Care and consideration is also appreciated with water usage, linen use and rubbish disposal.
Everything was created with local materials and local labour. Much of the furniture and fittings are handcrafted from fallen trees on the property. We look forward to sharing this wonderful slice of paradise with you.
