You can order a Lovo feast. The food is prepared during the day and you can watch and participate if you wish in preparation. The food is prepared in the traditional Fijian way. Meat, chicken and vegetables are wrapped in leaves and cooked over hot stones. It is the highlight of the Fiji experience for many of our guests.

We enjoy all tide access to the Salt Lake and the Koro Sea. The river entrance and Benau Lagoon are just minutes away.Anglers can experience trolling, popping, and bottom fishing. The lake is perfect for fly fishing. You can kayak to the lake and fish from the pontoon at the mouth of the lake which is best early morning or evening on the high tide.
Mangrove Jacks, trevally. barracudas are plentiful here.
Out in the Koro sea you will find sailfish, yellow fin tuna, red snapper and reef fish. Experienced guides are available. Boats are subject to availability.
Local boat fees are from Fiji $45 an hour plus fuel charge, and a larger faster boat is FJ$135 plus, for an hour.
Kayaking Kayak along the Qaloqalo River past mangrove forests to the beautiful Salt Lake. The Lake covers an area of about 100 acres and is the ancestral home of Dakuwaga the Sea God. Fed by the ocean tides the lake is an inland sea perfect for kayaking and fishing. Complimentary kayaks are provided.
Snorkeling Trips to beautiful Benau Lagoon, the reef and the Qaloqalo river passage are a delight. Turtles,dolphins and reef sharks are often seen. Soft and hard corals and schools of colorful fish abound in the warm turquoise waters.
Guided Boat Hire is available From Fiji $45 to $135 + an hour. We recommend you bring your own reef shoes, snorkeling and fishing gear as we have a limited supply. Advise us on arrival if you wish to go fishing during the visit so boat reservation can be made.
Hiking There are many lovely walks. A favorite is to Natewa Bay. About a 1 hour walk along a quiet country lane. The road takes you past coconut plantations and tropical bush. At Natewa Bay you can snorkel off the shore.Take a picnic and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
Natewa Bay spinner dolphin trip. See the great Natewa Bay, the largest in the South Pacific. There are 2 pods of spinner dolphins in the bay. It's a beautiful bay where you can stop for a beach picnic and go remote snorkeling.
Scuba Diving with Koro Sun or Namena is available and can be arranged by management
Village Visits and Church Service. Our local community are Gilbertese, Banaban, Indian and Fijian. You are welcome to attend a church service on Sundays and enjoy the wonderful singing. Deep Sea Fishing May be arranged on request at arrival
Salt Lake Lodge is where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing. You can throw in a line from the pontoon or go out in the boat. Kayak up to the lake and paddle around the little island in the middle before heading back past mangrove forest and lush tropical vegetation. You could well be the only people there. Fish and bird life thrive in this slice of paradise.
